@polychrome LOL yes, that was a limited-time summer event. unfortunately it was a one time thing and it was before i picked up the game myself

however you can still buy the emotes to learn the poses, and i shamefully admit i have them, because the black ranger pose is.... a pretty good sarcastic dab

so there's your pro tip of unsolicited advice folks

if you feel like you're stuck, going "ugh, i wonder why i keep feeling so anxious/lethargic/easily distracted/easily frustrated/unable to think well/confused", and it's a psych symptom that seems to pass within hours instead of within say weeks,

write a food diary, compare it to diabetic diets, and if you can track trouble spots to something like "after i eat lunch"? yeah your blood sugar's fucking with you on some level lol

but also for real i'm starting to think some base level psych treatment should be a quick rundown from a dietician

not that it's gonna cure your mental illness, but just like not having a regular sleep schedule, if you try to be on top of mental health while your blood sugar is being on a rollercoaster, you're going to have a bad time pushing past that

sure, it's not harmful like for diabetics, but "hangry" is a commonly recognized Thing even among neurotypicals lol

@twistylittlepassages@weirder.earth yeah! honestly if you feel like you need some ideas, check out diabetic-friendly recipes. a lot of people i think sling their blood sugar around and, not being diabetic, there's not serious health issues, but you can sure feel unhappy about it lol

for savory, maybe try adding a fried egg on top! for sweet, i know a lot of people do overnight oats in greek yogurt for more protein, or add in chia seeds as well! ^0^

at that point you just say the extra steps to the bathroom are part of your new workout routine or some shit though

source: in georgia in the summer, if you aren't currently a piss elemental, you ARE dehydrated, absolutely, no exceptions. your two states are "currently needing a pee" and "dehydrated" no third option at all

(and even then, it's funny, because i feel like they do the opposite. kojima promised a big important story, and then delivered a collapsed souffle of Uhhh Nanomachines I Guess. taro tells a compelling story that treats the women in his stories as actual whole complete people, often with far more agency than anyone else there, and keeps the fanservice around to intentionally subvert the expectation and games standard of "oh this is the t&a character, she just looks pretty".)

y'know, it's funny how i get along with yoko taro far more than i do hideo kojima as far as 'video game authors with extended complex stories to tell' goes

mostly because kojima told us "no no there's important story reasons why she's in a bikini! when i tell you, you will be ASHAMED of your WORDS and DEEDS"

meanwhile yoko taro is just "yeah it's because i want her to step on me and she looks really sexy. next question"

Oatmeal A is you loading up carbs with more carbs - oatmeal plus fruit, honey, etc. that punts up your blood sugar and then punts it back down again, leaving you hungry.

Oatmeal B is introducing a fat - butter - so once your body goes through the carbs, it has something more to work on, and your blood sugar doesn't rollercoaster as much.

if you find yourself missing sweet - try packing it full of nuts :D

trust me, i've never played any of these games and only watched some of nier automata/drakengard 3, i am clearly an expert 🧐

but story-wise they all are defying a very specific trope, of the fanservice woman who is there to only look pretty. 2b, zero, kaine - they're all there looking pretty, but are also honestly the key and essential movers and shakers in their respective plots, and all of them formidable warriors.

yoko taro packages them as disposable so the audience might write them off - to their peril.
