i don't mean to imply that getting a new diagnosis is a bad thing, or that having a diagnosis is a bad thing, by the way

i have a bit of a tangled ball of personal feelings alongside knowing with head-smarts that dx'ing is good, it is valuable information, it means solidarity and solutions

but uhhhh my dudes, heart-dumb means that this meme is Very True

Show thread

instead of taking over ms holly glaceon's perfectly cromulent personal thread even more than i already have,

i gotta admit the point that makes me go breathe into a brown paper bag at feeling a new dx drooling over my shoulder is when i go "haha no see, i'm good with social cues and such, i can't be on the autism spectrum" and then the internet just roars WELL YOU COULDA MADE IT A SPECIAL INTEREST. REMEMBER HOW MUCH TIME YOU SPENT READING MISS MANNERS BOOKS and i start sweating bullets

i just remembered chupa chups exist and am filled with a great desire for candy

a meta observation

it's the painful lesson that we all gotta learn at some point and another -

one, your feelings are valid for you to have, your struggles are valid to struggle with

two, that validity does not mean you get to hurt other people

both are true, both at the same time, both in all the same situations, and that's what makes the whole dang thing suck more often than not.

a meta observation

i have sympathy and patience for people's cri de coeur, and i try to have as much as possible

however, it is becoming increasingly easy to see one person having an untagged meltdown, then another person getting triggered into an untagged meltdown, then another person, etc., etc...

i'm not saying struggling with mental illness is bad, or that these people should be ashamed

i am saying maybe it's good to reflect on what you are putting out into the ecosystem from time to time

i have been saved from bad decisions by my graphics tablet pen going AWOL

you're allowed to do that.......... Once, tablet. Once

if you doubt the efficacy of my stand in battle, may i refer you to the footage of that time Bjork got fed up with a paparazzi and slapped the hell out of them

Show thread

i see people talking about what their stands would be in the jojos and despite not having read/watched the jojos, i can tell you what mine would be:

bjork

no not a fantastical being inspired by a song or even her entire discography. literally bjork. just bjork. i just summon up an eccentric icelandic woman to slap the shit out of my foes. that's it

i have never played a Devil May Cry game but through osmosis of hearing friends talk about it, i can guarantee you that this has happened, if not on a daily basis, in the kitchen when the star characters of said video game go to cook.

they absolutely have a plastic skellingtom hand for pasta stirring. V's probably the one making the melodramatic snapchats while Dante is using it to toss the pasta at the wall to see if it's done yet

Holy shit, never considered that, but this is likely accurate.

Gnomes build custom prostheses for an old dragon ally (Jeff Easley, Dragonlance Solo Quest gamebook 2: Gnomes-100, Dragons-0, TSR, 1987) oldschoolfrp.tumblr.com/post/1

i should remember to not eat crumbs off my titties after i've recently put minty cbd balm all over my business

It's easy to get discouraged and feel like your posts online don't make a ripple. I feel that way pretty often.

Imposter syndrome, feeling stuck, and self-hatred can sneak up.

But every now and then I notice that I'm making some genuine friendships and connecting with artists I've admired for years.

What you do does matter. Don't give up.

pokemon go naming scheme idea

every pokemon is a pikachu.

blue pikachu. pink pikachu. turtle pikachu. spore pikachu. sleepy pikachu. big pikachu. singing pikachu. tree pikachu. hooved pikachu. yappy pikachu. flying pikachu. pointy pikachu. round pikachu. flappy pikachu. ghost pikachu.

and then this guy is the only one you name just "pikachu"

ok i accidentally did it in two threads because i do not know how to internet but still. pokemans.
