@effika oops. yeah my mistake it seems like that's just disabled entirely on my instance (and probably for understandable reasons too)

@effika i suspect the search function only works to find people and not posts on here :(

How do I search my own posts on here for a specific keyword? on bsky i can put in something like `from:me fox` and it'll search the word "fox" in all posts i've personally written. i don't know how to do that on glitchsoc

It seems U-95 for Windows 3.1 is virtually unknown to the English-speaking internets?

10 months. 342 commits. Dearest people of the Fediverse, may I present:

Hyper 8 Video System _ 1.0 _ – A static site generator for video publishing
simonrepp.com/hyper8/

For screenshots, videos and written notes on everything that happened in these last releases, check out the rich release pages for 1.0 (simonrepp.com/hyper8/changes/1) and its equally feature-packed predecessors at simonrepp.com/hyper8/changes/

These major developments in 2025 were made possible through a project grant from netidee.at, an open source funding programme by the austrian internetstiftung.at/ – thank you so much for supporting this work and enabling tools that benefit independent artists, communities and organisations worldwide!

I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of you out there already running your own Hyper 8 sites, testing, reporting, contributing, donating, giving feedback and being just all-out positive and supportive on this journey, it really means a lot to me and makes a big difference!

For this latest release, special shout-out to @branpos, @arnauld, @evilpeacock, @lminiero & @jpburstrom for helping out on these last meters!

1.0 is now out for all platforms and is accompanied by a new, video-augmented tutorial, completely overhauled documentation and more available packages than ever – Enjoy!

@grapenutsrobot "Hey what's that part of the boat that makes it change direction in the water?"

I feel most people know the Netherlands is mostly below sea level and there are some dikes to keep the water out, but I'm not sure if people appreciate just how far it goes.

Like... they've turned a sea into a lake. They've reclaimed so much land an entirely new province was formed.

This is pretty bonkers stuff really when you think about it!

so what if double hi-res Apple II Peasant's Quest were a thing?

I'm just messing around here, doing the game in dhgr would take up twice as much RAM/disk and be 100x more difficult to program.

@eramdam the last one of those that I (grimly) liked was the one that just told me "Thank you for applying; we have closed this position."

either way, πŸ«‚

@Atatra specifically the shift keys, i think, should be cut and polished walnut, with that cross hatched texture for that Colt 1911 grip panel look and feel

i kind of want a full-metal keyboard. maybe parkerized gunmetal. i'm sure it would be heavy as shit. i'm sure the switches would need to be extra stiff. it'd probably cost fuck-hundred dollars. but i think about brushed metal textures and the want comes right back.

Firefox just updated and those shit eaters decided to add some ai slop search engine to the browser so make sure to go under your search settings and remove it like I'm about to.

@platinumtulip that's at least a fairly easy need to cater to, all that needs consideration is the CPU's single-core performance. no need to fret about what graphics card is in it.

i find there's somewhat less emulation community around the mac though; i had OpenEmu working well enough for the common stuff on my 2013 MacPro but there were some things it didn't support that I wish it did. (such as: my gamepad)
