bbs enthusiasts might remember the name Telegard - a bbs server written based on wwiv's source code and hugely popular with the ibm pc/ms-dos crowd
telegard had a long and tumultuous history by its authors, and its own source was eventually leaked and was modded into many more popular (pirate-friendly) ms-dos boards like Renegade, Oblivion and Iniquity.
while i was doing research a few months ago on the history of those systems, i found out that telegard.net - the original home of tg - was taken over by a domain squatter in 2010, populated with ads for the past 15 years.
two months ago, i noticed that the squatter had not renewed the domain, and it went into the long grace/redemption/auction/expiry cycle. i checked on it every single morning, and to my absolute delight, it was released this morning for purchase. 💸
the domain will be used purely for historical preservation of telegard and its many descendants

I think this is the most cursed build pipeline I've ever done. With it though I can get a disk image that will load in martypc
all considered, i'm not precisely unbothered, and it's debatable whether i'm flourishing, happy, or in my lane. but i'm moisturized, and damn it, the rest are attainable enough goals that i can still reach for them
i don't know what i'd saved this image for, but i'm glad i have it

perhaps the greatest contribution made to society by the uncurious hacks who blatantly steal every single part of every single creative work they claim to have made is that after their years‐long careers of lies and uncredited theft are finally exposed, a bunch of people get some unique entertainment in hunting down and cataloguing exactly where everything was stolen from.
anyway watching Game Grumps play Limbo of the Lost has been fascinating.

often thinking about how effortlessly chill and cool the Pink Panther is in this title card, compared to nearly all other instances.
@elilla @Kiloku given how many times Pokemon professors will tell you that "we really don't know much about these creatures" I suspect that clearing out all the unverified, inaccurate data (which is to say all of it) and starting from scratch is the norm in that world; every other year, declaring "THIS time, we'll get it right, we just need to start... all... over... again..."
