The decision on the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the Olympics in Paris will be made no earlier than a year before its start - IOC President Thomas Bach.

When asked about the availability of Jameson whiskey in Russia, a company spokesman said that since the war began, the company has prioritized "protecting local workers both in Ukraine and in Russia."
Pernod Ricard, which owns Ireland’s biggest-selling whiskey brand Jameson, has resumed supply of brands to the Russian market having previously suspended sales there in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Gymnast Nikita Nagornyy drew criticism in April 2022 for outing himself as a supporter of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In a video he said, "If you want to support our military in their special mission, send packages to our headquarters and we will forward them." His club, TG Saar, subsequently kicked him out.
He took also part in the annually "Victory Day" military parade in Red Square.
