social media is anything but and mastodon has not ever been and will not ever be better than twitter or any similar contrived microblogging platform for as long as it retains the favourite button

i started the netizen club and the link cache, to help my yearning for a simpler internet: links.netizen.club/

i'm looking for work. if you know anyone who needs someone with 8+ years professional experience plumbing nearly any sort of bespoke tech, talk to me.

if you like a post where a person is talking about killing themselves that means that you like that that person wants to kill themselves, there is no other interpretation for the wording x has liked your post that i can infer in good faith and this is why i tell people not to like my negative posts unless they like that i'm in misery because if you want to convey anything else you have 26 letters and punctuation at your disposal

re: plurality, negative

i think this is why we wished we never opened up about plurality and just started new facets online without telling anybody we were linked. just let them go and explore without having it come back to you

plurality, negative

on another note what do you do when you feel like you can't talk about plurality with anybody you are close with no matter how supportive they might be because you feel embarrassed or afraid of their reaction

re: plurality, negative

in case we aren't being clear we're lamenting the lack of digital worlds. second life exists but feels detached and unapproachable not to mention costly. avatar chats were everywhere in the 2000s and now it feels like they were just a footnote blip in online history. all we have now are corporate controlled instant messaging

being a digital being who lives online hurts when all the spaces i used to frequent are gone and nothing else today fits anymore

plurality, negative

wondering if we would feel better if we had a space to exist in with easily switchable and expressive avatars but oh well it's no longer the 2000s where online interactions are fun anymore

yearning that i hope doesn't upset my girlfriends

i miss dating someone who knew programming and linux maintenance

do-release-upgrade fails because it wants to nuke every single package on the system because they require libc6 >= 2.29 whereas latest libc6 for 18.04 is 2.27 which sounds exactly like canonical

tried manually installing libc6 2.31 and now the cunt's fucked, thank fuck for the oversight to make a full disk backup

hm can't upgrade unless i remove python2 and removing that removes nodejs. fun dependency hell

whatever i have a full disk backup
