I was going to reinstall windows, that also crashes. I created a windows 11 install media on a USB drive. And when I boot from it, shortly after the install guide opens, I get a blue screen again.
But we were not out of the woods yet... When we got to the step where you need to connect to a wifi network it didn't show any. Turns out it didn't have any drivers for the wifi card. That took some manual searching in the Microsoft update catalog:
@quirk i wouldn't rule out ram just because a different os boots without doing a full memtest but i would say from the message that it's more likely something in the storage path, either with a controller or with the storage device itself
if the live usb never tries to access it that would explain why it doesn't show the symptoms
@mavica_again yes, you're right
I'm going to experiment with accessing the SSD later
Curiously, my Fedora Linux Live USB is working just fine. It boots and everything. Didn't try to mount the NTFS partition on the SSD though. And it doesn't have drivers for the wifi, maybe cause it's an old version of the linux live distro I just had lying around. So, I couldn't test everything. But at least there's no problem with the RAM.
