Although I'm *way* late to the party, I'm finally watching Infinity War. Favorite line so far:

@ada I swear I though I heard "close your eyes and count to fuck" by RTJ playing at the start of the new promo and was very disappointed when I went back and figured out it wasn't.

Just gave a ride home to two guys, one of which had just fallen on concrete and chipped his tooth. He was crying the whole ride home, which would have been terrible except that he very drunk and was saying things like "I don't wanna live without my teeth!" And "I don't wanna be ugly!" And the other guy is talking him through it, saying things like "don't worry, everything will be fine" and "nah, man, you're still cute as fuck. Chipped tooth won't change that."

It was hilarious and wholesome.

@forAll52 he was really drunk. What added to the humor was he was saying it in much the same way I could easily imagine a 5 year old saying it.

@melaninpony online there are a bunch of places that you can buy bulk foods, and have them shipped to you. Shipping and item prices vary, but should be cheaper than regular grocery store prices. One of the places I looked at said that shipping was only $5 for orders over $75.

If you can budget for a big bulk purchase, it would probably be worth it to get a bunch of bulk foods at once, because it would probably take a while to go through it all.

Just make sure you have good containers.

@melaninpony the food prep subreddit has great recipes. You can pick one or two days a week to dedicate to preparing meals, and the rest of the week, you just pull meals out and cook them.

Buy in bulk. If you live near the west coast, winco has awesome bulk food options. Most places have some sort of bulk dry food option.

Spices are a cheap way to add big flavor. My go-to is curry powder. Find hot sauces you like.

Beans are cheap. Lentils are extremely cheap. Lots can be made with both.

@melaninpony back to the topic, though, there's definitely cheap ways to have extremely flavorful food on an extremely limited budget. India doesn't seem to have a problem with it, so I just don't get what our problem is here in the states.

@melaninpony I don't particularly like my family, but that doesn't mean I don't understand why they did the things they did. There's much better reasons to maintain low contact with them, like them forcing mormonism on me.

@melaninpony my family was poor but tried to shield me and my sister from that reality. Making sure that we weren't hungry was one way. I'll say though, that we sure did use a lot of seasoning salt. May not have been the most flavorful food, but it wasn't bland.

@melaninpony my family liked using tvp in foods to make larger meat dishes.

We would actually eat green bean casserole and corn was a staple food.
