Today security fail: openssl enc

OpenSSL lets you strongly encrypt, or decrypt, data! Using a password!

But one day, the devs decided to silently change the defaults for how the password is processed. Because security!

So, depending on how old your encrypted data is, you might need to add `-md md5` to your decryption command... or you might not.

There's no way to know, because security!

So just keep on guessing! 👍 👍 👍

Capitalism in a nutshell:

1. Invest all money in businesses that exploit natural resources (the environment/people) in an unquenchable, shortsighted & illogical thirst for perpetual growth within a closed system.

Oh dang I am really close to getting affiliate on Twitch. All I need is to, um, nearly double my average viewer count.

Which isn't really that much because the average viewer count needs to reach 3. :)

It may not look like it but this is my highest effort post yet

it is my birthday. the free market will get me my boosts if that's what people want

I think when I retire I’ll settle down to a farm where I’ll make my own cheese and raise some pigs.
