hot take: tribes ascend was fun for four levels when everyone was using the disc shooter

at level 5 you get put into the next skill level up so matchmaking puts you with the people using the weapons that aren't /technically/ hitscan but are so fast that they might as well be

(that was the case when i played it at least, which was ages ago)

@monorail honestly at this point I'll take anything with Tribes movement and spinfusors, regardless of the genre :blobcry:

...just as long as it has better execution than MidAir did @_@

@Beancatte@chitter.xyz omg yes \o/

it is my favorite fighting game of all time and I wish it was more widely loved

@Beancatte@chitter.xyz always delightful to have a reminder that I'm not the only person on the planet that loves Melty ;_;

today is basically dysphasia incarnate and I just can’t even

getting out of bed can sometimes seem a monumental task

@decis @slightlyflightyone@vulpine.club 100% same, tbh. The fact that there are so many people liked that makes it a tad bit difficult for me to enjoy MMORPGs due to being worried about that same exact stuff :/

@slightlyflightyone@vulpine.club I really don't miss being in 'gamer' spaces and having to deal with people like that. >_>;

if I don't ever have to argue with someone that all games should have highly variable difficulty levels that promote accessibility, I'll be a very happy bun.

@slightlyflightyone@vulpine.club yeahhhh, I'm definitely not a... uh... "hardcore gamer" myself either.

don't play them nearly as often as I used to (though I can still be tempted to do a binge by something special), and I frequently commit the sin of *gasp* turning the difficulty down if I'm not having fun

mortal sins in the eyes of certain people 😅

@slightlyflightyone@vulpine.club as someone that plays games primarily on PC ------------- I don't actually disagree with you tbh.

the wild, frantic, frenzied people who scream about PC gaming being the greatest thing on the planet are obnoxious as hell

@Ferretsyndicate@radical.town former MLP forum admin here (thought the show was cute, joined since I wanted a place to talk about it) - this honestly looks about like I’d expect. 🤷‍♀️

re: personal meta

@audrey computerfairies is pretty cozy imo, and the admin, Maple, is pretty proactive about blocking crappy instances

(though I confess minor bias)

@lynnesbian I went back and started using it after a year of switching away and... well... using the developer tools no longer crash the browser for me, so that's good I guess.
