It's definitely one of the things that influenced my imagination growing up, in a way that any work of fiction I ever write will owe it to some degree. I just love how much thought the author put into the setting.

It also makes me incredibly nostalgic for my old role playing friends! If you like playing Dungeons & Dragons with unruly and unpredictable players, you might like this!

Had a thing occur like this:
-Go somewhere, talk to guy with problem. Can't do anything else so go back
-On the way back an event is triggered that gives access to the person needed to fix the problem (finding 3 people)
-Find all three, talking to them does nothing
-Talk to guy with problem again, this time you can agree to help him.
-Suddenly talking to the three dudes works
