...realisation I often think about the aesthetics of colourful things in "huh does that look pleasant to chew on"...

... which is why I bought a not amazingly great for readability set of polyhedral dice because, and I quote, "they look like they taste of orange chewits and I love orange flavoured chewits. They don't, but they do look like it." and everyone looked at me weird.

@maple mmn... I mean... hmm... I DO like the button on the left. it is nice, it's clear, it's attractive, I kinda wanna chew on it because it looks tasty and sweet flavoured like an apple and I bet it feels nice and smooth.

whereas the one on the right IS simple but... yeah no it's... sharp and harsh and looks like it might be painful to chew. nah. I def. prefer the one on the left. I think you're right.

@softmetals @lynnesbian I never got it because I kinda... didn't like the AoStH stylings they used, but in hindsight I probably should have because it's just a reskinned Puyo Puyo and that game is rad as hell.

@lynnesbian (I did complete Sonic Mania but wow I wish I hadn't bought the Encore DLC too because I tried playing it and while it's cool I just... eeehhhh... - also absoultey fuck those goddamn special stages they aer SO AGGRAVATING, trying to friggin get all the chaos emerals SUCKS)

@lynnesbian I feel you on this. The Mean Bean Machine minigame was... pretty rad, and a nice surprise, and made me realise how much I goddamn love Puyo Puyo.

But wow.

I mean it's a great sonic game, but... it's also a huge wakeup call that ... even the original Sonic games are... not... great.

@lynnesbian HOW DARE YOU SONIC HEROES WAS- uh... bad... uh... okay not that one uh SONIC ADVENTURE W-was okay at best uh... shit um... AH! SONIC COLORS WAS A LAUGH - but otherwise basically a 2d game with some vaguely 3d stages but honesly most of its gameplay is effectively a 2d game so I guess that doesn't count and it's not as good as the MD era ones so... uh... SHIT

@softmetals @lynnesbian Doesn't one of the Sonic Advance games have a chao garden too? I know those are kinda a mixed bag but they do a lot of really unique new things in them and they're both very well thought of and widely lamented at the same time?? (not by the same people tho I'm guessing)
