@Austin_Dern That makes sense, and that's what I was thinking too. I guess when you start right out with anthropomorphic characters the animal part is already a given and a bit more invisible, with species being more just different physical traits a person could have unless you're telling a story -about- species.

That said, while I don't put any emphasis on the nut part of being a squirrel, I really put a lot of emphasis on the fluffy tail part, using it in most of her interactions with people.

I wonder if I should embrace acorns as a symbol for myself, and maybe have my character enjoy them like Squirrel Girl does.

On the other hand Nova has a lot more to latch onto theme-wise than just "squirrel" and I've got kind of a star motif going on already.

I think beavers are totally underrated as far as rodent characters go. They're pretty good.

undertale/deltarune spoiler question

@softgoat Undertale's a few years old by now so I don't think spoilers for it are a huge concern anymore, but aside from that I think the Asriel/Flowey connection is the real Undertale spoiler rather than Asriel's existence on its own.

@woob whenever I didn't plug it in all the way I remember a color channel being knocked out, turning all the white a bright magenta or cyan or whatever.

I put the accurate Tetris Attack physics from colour_thief's solver into NetPuzzleArena as another game type.

I still have some things to fix but it's 95% there and it feels great being a lot closer to the dream of an accurate no-lag multiplayer Tetris Attack/Puzzle League.

It's actually weird laying down -not- next to a plush a lot of the time now. It's just a lot more comfortable being able to cuddle something and show affection, even if it's one-way?

I just voted and there wasn't any line. Doing it at a random point in the afternoon has always worked well for me in that regard.

@maxine in my experience it was usually 6697 instead but that's still got a 69 in the middle

@maple My melon house actually doesn't stand out as weird nearly as much as I thought it would. Once I get more green blocks I'll try to make it look like a great addition to the city. :p

Transformation/joke

@Austin_Dern Yeah, a friend had turned some other friends into plates and teacups and such and I was the tea kettle to finish the whole thing off. It was cute and creative.

Transformation shitpost/joke

Okay it may be because I've been a kettle before but it's hard to look at this and not immediately think "inanimate TF"

novasquirrel.com/dl/NetPuzzleA Here's the most recent Windows build. It should be very easy to build from source on Linux (which is also included).

Most games included don't do anything yet but "Puzzle Frenzy" (Puzzle League), "Avalanche" (Puyo), and "Pillars" (Columns) are all mostly there.

Anyone wanna playtest my Puzzle League implementation and see how it feels compared to the real thing? I can upload a build somewhere.

Mostly I wanna nail down any final remaining differences with how chains work and having more eyes on it would probably help a bit.

re: politics

@shaderphantom I have a lot of stuff that's not anywhere online anymore, and it ends up being some of the stuff I keep carrying with me from computer to computer

@Austin_Dern I treat it as existing as an in-character concept, which means I pull it out whenever I want to demonstrate that the daily currency is not at all a scarce resource.

The most terrible, most tempting button of all to press on someone else's car is the "M" button by the clock, that increments the minutes and must now be pressed exactly 59 more times to fix it.

@shaderphantom I tend to just plow through my fruit so that's not much of a concern for me. Now bread or milk on the other hand...

Despite filters lacking some granularity I'm gonna give them a try and see if they improve the Mastodon experience for me.
