One of the weird things about there being snow everywhere is you can actually look outside at night and see things without needing a flashlight, because it's just that reflective

Went in and fixed two huge if/elif/else chains in Tilemap Town to use dictionaries instead.

I guess when you want to code and you don't really feel like digging into starting new features, it's a good idea to try and use that time to fix technical debt.

forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.ph My Dr.Mario clone's got a more squirrelly theme and music (by @maple) now. These are supposed to be trees, acorns and berries.

I'm tempted to just walk to the nearest Little Caesars, but it's actually *currently* snowing, very cold, and probably soon to be dark, so I don't think it's entirely worth it to walk two miles in that.

Still want to though.

@maple I feel nostalgic for Windows Live Messenger; it had a lot of features that things today don't (like the "send a quick drawing for my post" one!) and Messenger Plus! was great too with how extensible it made the client.

Side note, looks like I have someone I can invite to play Ultimate Chicken Horse!

I should probably leave Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp alone at some point since it's not actually that fun, and I'm not actually gonna use any of the stuff I get from participating in events. It was a nice distraction in college though.

@woob this is making me think of this really awful Pokemon Mystery Dungeon animation from ages ago that I only knew about because I saw a YTP of it

Tetris & Dr. Mario for SNES has a really weird aesthetic, especially in the music

I really hope 2019 is the year I really fix things up in my social life and introduce a lot more reliability and consistency, because if things are reliable you can make plans, and if you can make plans then you can have something to look forward to

It's turning out to be difficult to figure out what to do with my time lately. Dunno what I want to code, maybe I should just work on drawing pixel art.

@rainwarrior "RIP my credit card" makes me imagine your credit card is like a key in a video game, where using it causes it to magically vanish

It's surprisingly difficult to pull together four people for Smash. I would have thought more people would be eager to play it since it's still a very new game.

negativity

@danishcookies I don't run into gatekeepers, but they're not necessary at all for making you feel like you don't belong when you can't relate to anyone already and the people around you don't care about being considerate.

negativity

@danishcookies I don't think I've been able to identify a single positive side to being asexual. You feel alienated (even in LGBT spaces, and *especially* in furry ones), relationships are much more difficult, and the support community seems essentially nonexistent.

This is why I've never been able to have any pride for being queer. It's a curse that's done nothing but make my life worse.

@Augur@elekk.xyz I don't actually know but I think it's JourneyMap? I don't think the server I'm on is on 1.13 though so you'd want to check if it supports that.
