@yaodema Didn't have much meat left and it made more sense to make two smaller burgers than one bigger one since it lets me use more pickles and use up more buns.
I managed to split a pound across 6 burgers, which was pretty good because now I only have two buns left to awkwardly use on other things, when I'd normally have more.
I like how if I plug both an HDMI cable and VGA cable into my laptop it'll just use both of them as additional screens.
Similarly the NES will output on both composite and RF at the same time and that's actually super helpful when recording a Zapper game because the RF connection can go right to your TV and not be affected by the lag of passing through and being processed by your recording device.
Starting to actually put floating windows into Tilemap Town. I think this design makes a LOT more sense than dumping everything into a scrollable pane in the lower left corner. #gamedev
Trying to figure out what Tilemap Town's virtual machine for running user scripts should look like. Maybe the simple way out (stack machine, Forth, add a better language later) is the best way since it gets things in a working state quickly.
Ideally I would just plug a preexisting language in there but people don't really write languages aimed at the needs of MU*-like projects.
@jeffalyanak Every now and then I hear a song and recognize it as a song I previously heard an NSF cover of in Famicompo. Or sometimes I'll go look up the original of a song I only managed to find through the cover because there's a lot of anime music in there I'd have never found otherwise.
Also I'll admit that 99% of my midis are just random game songs from https://vgmusic.com/
@codl This actually bit me in the butt during game development ages ago, when I used the alpha channel in a sprite sheet, but I was also accidentally using a specific color as transparency, and with both kicked in at once, all the areas I'd deleted were visible because they weren't the right color.
@nincollin Because she's wacky, @LiteralGrill practiced speedrunning those a bunch and I think had/has a record?
Tried adding more colors to the player sprite for Nova the Squirrel for practice, with darker line art this time for contrast. I don't need to keep this exact shape for a potential "All Stars" version but the hitbox (and thus the 16x24) is important to keep, otherwise there would need to be lots of level changes and that would defeat the purpose of a SNES remake.
https://novasquirrel.itch.io/nova-the-squirrel/devlog/57111/unusedunderused-content-and-development I wrote about unused content/ideas in Nova the Squirrel and reflected on it a bit as a finished game. #nesdev #gamedev
@maple I used to have a "gaming" keyboard that had a second separate WASD, run/walk and reload buttons or whatever... and I had it plugged into my home server, completely wasting it. I enjoyed mashing the "panic" key though.
I'm a pretty squirrel princess who dabbles in roleplay, game development, retro game consoles, pixel art, and a variety of computery things.
