Transgender patients are suing Vanderbilt University Medical Center

It’s the hospital that gave away their records to Tennessee's AG via bogus legal request

The same bogus request that other red state AGs are using to gain more records

If there is a political party that targets a minority, puts them on a list, tracks their every movement, and uses them as a scapegoatβ€”

what would you say about that political party?

Tim Scott,

Sit your self-loathing, Stepin Fetchit ass down. You’re as nauseating as you are shameless. Truly, you’re a gutless wonder pandering to a racist, bigoted Republican base.

Like your party and its β€œstandard” bearer, Trump, you’re tragically lacking in decency and dignity.

Do what I did - marry someone who likes to shop for clothes. I haven't had to go clothes shopping for 30 years.
😁

I don't think it's intended as an insult, it's just that autism isn't "a" thing, it's a wide range of possible things, with or without attendant other things.
I'm autistic, and just looking casually at my life, you might decide to group me with allistics. It's in the details where things get fuzzy. My neighbor's son is autistic and is going to an entirely different school than his siblings, so they can meet his needs.

And yet, somehow, I doubt the CEO did 364 times as much work as the delivery drivers and warehouse workers.

Over the last few weeks I've had many blood draws, and it's easy to tell when the person doing it knows what they're doing.
The phlebotomist at the hospital, I didn't even feel it. The nurse putting in the IV, it felt like she was taking a core sample, and it took 5 tries before she found the vein without popping through the other side.

I write a *lot*, and I've had a good reception to it by the (very few) people who have read it, but I've never taken the next step and sent it out into the world. I don't think I'm strong enough for that.

@actuallyautistic

Something to which I've never admitted, and here I am posting it publicly...

How many of we have quietly, secretly nursed the dream that we could reach people with some talent? Singing? Playing an instrument? Writing? Use some innate talent or skill to connect in ways we can't seem to manage otherwise?

Seen one of these posted without credit, so sharing some more here because they are amazing and I'd buy every single one of them if they existed.

One of the things that cracks me up about TV and Movies is when someone walks into a room and says, THIS PLACE IS A MESS, and there's a shirt on the floor, and three dishes in the sink.

I can break down the word monotropism, but I don't know what it's referring to. Whatever it is, I apparently have it.

Monotropism Score: 190 / 235

Average: 4.04

I did the Online Monotropism Questionnaire survey and my results are:

Monotropism Score: 222 / 235

Average: 4.72

This score means that you are more Monotropic than about 95% of autistic people and about 100% of allistic people.

@dweebish @actuallyautistic

I was given 3 1mg pills. I took one an hour ago, another a half hour ago, and just took the third. I'm feeling nicely weightless and worry free. And they've got what might be the reboot of Tron playing in the waiting room, while I'm reading a Scalzi book about collapsing empires and foul-mouthed Emperoxes. I think I'll be all right.

@ScottSoCal @actuallyautistic Hoping the Ativan provides you some relief this time or that they have another great drug that helps you. I had an MRI years ago and I have absolutely no idea how I managed it.

@amro@strangeobject.space @actuallyautistic

The first one I hit the panic button after 20 seconds, and they documented that I was non-compliant and refused medical procedure. The second one they gave me Ativan - don't know how much - and when it did nothing gave me Versed. It's an amnesiac, so I remember nothing of the second, but I'm told I was very cooperative. Versed isn't an option this time, so it's just Ativan - but more of it.

@actuallyautistic

I'm front-loading my stress meltdown for my upcoming MRI. I have 3mg of Ativan to take for it, but there's a voice in my head that keeps telling me I don't react like other people to tranquilizers. I never have. And I'm flashing back to my first one (without medication) and the feeling of that restraint pressing on my chest, and the tube wall 4" in front of my face, and the noise...

I wish this was over. I wish I could stop thinking about it.
