I read an article that said what makes an earworm is knowing almost, but not all of a song. Your brain gets stuck in the missing pieces and goes back to it again and again. To resolve, listen to the song, start to finish.
I've tried it. It works sometimes, but not always.

This is some racist bullshit
FedEx fires Black delivery driver who said he was attacked by White father and son

The problem with that is, any showdown would inevitably be appealed to SCOTUS. This SCOTUS, with Rapey McBeerBoy, The Handmaid, Uncle "I got mine, fuck you" Thomas, and the rest of the wackjobs.
I'd be very nervous about trying to appeal anything to this court.
I know mastodon has issues, I know the fediverse is basically a prototype of what it could be. I know itโs annoying when people are snobby about masto despite its faults.
But for real, if we want this shit to succeed, weโve got to also love what is good here and be growing it. That doesnโt mean yelling about how all other social media sites suck. It means focusing on what weโre getting right here, listening carefully to complaints, and putting a little energy into solving problems

I'm sorry to hear that, nobody needs that crap. Is there anyone local to you that might be able to help?
A few days ago I started to tell hubs about something that had made me really angry, then I stopped and said "Just letting you know, this is not the time to tell me I over reacted, or roll your eyes." I told him, he didn't downplay it, and it actually turned into a good conversation (not an argument) about the times he *has* been dismissive.

I'd rate myself as having little or no Functional Fixedness. I can't begin to count the number of times I've looked around, seen something, and thought "Ah! That will do!"

I'm wondering how much overlap there is between PDA and DSM's "Oppositional-Defiant Disorder", and how many people might have been misdiagnosed.

No problem.
I didn't block them. Yes, they're trolls, but they're pathetically bad trolls. Pity was the most they inspired in me.
I have enjoyed past discussions debating that kind of topic, but they can't get anywhere unless everyone agrees that words mean things, and it's important to know what they mean before you use them.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
