The Colorado School of Mines was temporarily closed and issued a shelter-in-place as police searched for a man with a gun. Sent in to apprehend the suspect, K9 Officer Graffit was shot and killed, giving his life in the line of duty.
RIP Good Boy.
"I hope that in 10 years when my nieces are more on the internet, she doesn't have to deal with something like this just for existing as a woman on the internet. It shouldn't be a price you pay. It shouldn't be the fee that you have whenever you log in"

This is a photo of a photo (one I keep in my office), so the quality isn't good, but this was my baby. A 1978 Mercedes 450SL in the original British Red, that I rebuilt and made beautiful again. And once it didn't need any more work, I was bored with it, so I sold it to a guy who was practically panting as I signed the title over to him.
Always makes me happy when I see a classic when I'm out for an evening stroll - late 70s MGB Roadster, I've seen a couple of classics parked here in Jesmond in the past, so maybe someone sells the odd classic now and again, so I'll make sure I pass this spot on a regular basis . .
TRYING TO FIND YOUR OLD TWITTER NETWORK?
After the great API shutoff, a lot of the services that people have been utilising to find their old Twitter networks no longer work.
Fedifinder is one of the few that is still up and running (I confirmed it myself this morning).
It isn't as seamless as some of the older methods, but can still be used in mere minutues to find users and easily follow them on Mastodon using the Import feature.
This video guide walks through the whole process from start to finish.
Please #Boost this to spread the word around your networks as much as possible.

The Constitution allows you to have your Bible.
But your Bible is not our Constitution.

I appreciate when the families have asked people not to watch, because they don't want them to be remembered that way.
I look for articles that describe who they were, in life.

I love that they've brought back 7 of 9.
Nah, that can't be true.
Remember when Hillary Clinton downloaded classified information to a private laptop?
Me either.
That was Donald Trump.
Don't put your winter clothes away! A Sudden Stratospheric Warming event is brewing right now above the Arctic.

By disrupting the polar vortex and displacing cold air into parts of Europe and N. America, SSWs can influence our weather for weeks.
There are uncertainties about their factual impacts or the link to climate change.
Yet, it is fascinating that our prediction systems, based on models and meteorological data can forecast these complex extreme weather phenomena.
Whole Foods tiramisu - the food of the gods.
Apparently a green shirt in Whole Foods is equivalent to a red shirt in Target, so donโt dress like this unless youโre prepared to direct people to the quinoa aisle.

I asked a co-worker if a particular prejudice of mine is sexist / racist. She didn't have an answer.
When I look for a doctor, I look for women or minorities - or both, in one package. It's harder for them to be accepted into a medical program, harder to stay in, harder to get a residency, and harder to get hired. Only the best and most dedicated make it The average woman/minority doctor just about has to be better than the average cis-white-male doctor.
