Back in my day, you could cyber on any day, not just Monday.
Hello out there!
During the #twittermigration five months ago I joined Mastodon and now with the #calckey surge going on, I'd thought Iβd check out what this side of the #Fediverse is all about.
Iβm a data #journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. My work focuses on data visualization and storytelling, analysis and investigative journalism.
Iβm also a recent dad and an avid #skier, #cyclist and general lover of anything to do with #mountains.
I used to tweet a lot, mainly about news in #Calgary, #Alberta, #Canada, and especially about COVID-19 #data during the first two years of the pandemic. But I quit Twitter in December 2022 because it just became too much.
@ScottSoCal Well, we needed to know when Diaper stock was going to rise....
Our friends at @texastribune picked up the story from us: https://www.texastribune.org/2023/04/24/sid-miller-agriculture-department-texas-anti-trans-dress-code/
and reprinted the entire dress code policy for those who wish to see the entire document: https://static.texastribune.org/media/files/1b355128e99f3d7ef0fc260db35f4df5/Dress%20Code%20and%20Grooming%20Policy.pdf?_ga=2.217282963.425595656.1682370506-411444715.1679887173

By contrast, every time TFG farted, it was on the front page of the NYT.
Good.
The administration actually speaks out all the time, it just doesn't get the coverage.

As of this #writing, it is unclear if Ramsey left over Twitterβs verification subscription service.
β I hope she makes her way to #mastodon

This feels like a pile-on by a bunch of people, and you (specifically you, Caroline) are stating facts not in evidence.
Where's the evidence anyone is profiting? Covering costs is NOT the same as profit.
And yeah, wouldn't it be great if everyone could benefit from free, open discussion in an uncontrolled environment? Not everyone can, some people need a controlled environment to cope and open up. That takes resources.
From really bad to much worseπ¨, now we'll need to support Manchin, assuming he's running: GOP Gov. Jim Justice set to launch bid for Joe Manchinβs Senate seat in West Virginia this week-: https://www.cnbc.com/2023/04/24/jim-justice-to-run-for-joe-manchin-senate-seat-in-west-virginia.html
In case you haven't heard, Red Hat is laying off people today, and I'm one of them. My 'career' as a Hatter lasted just over 15 months, much less time than I had planned or expected.
Many of you know me well, and know that I have extensive background in open source software, project management, open source business, and lots of related activities. If you're aware of any opportunities which may be of interest, feel free to send them my way via any channel you like.
Boosts much appreciated, of course, and thanks in advance!
Toilets, air conditioners, laptops, phones, TV sets, cameras - anything they can get their thieving hands on, they steal.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
