As predicted, CNNโs Trump townhall was a big mistake and they got fourth in the ratings two days after the event; losing to Newsmax.
As it turns out, feeding your audience shit and telling them itโs caviar isnโt a great business model. While I donโt think ratings should be a goal for news orgs, itโs hilarious that they blew that too.
And the joke is that theyโre the ones trapped in a silo, unaware that we hear from #Trump every damn day so their event wasnโt special.

@ScottSoCal @GottaLaff I graduated Catholic HS in '99. Lowest 5% of my class. Hated school bc it never made sense to me. I received Classical Ed. It was horrible. Not until college in Hawaii did I fall in love with learning, so much so, I made it my career. #DietDonald doesn't get that America fell behind with classical Ed and education is not a one size fits all system. We want free thinkers who critically analyze subjects with facts and research. The kids of Florida are in trouble.

It's truly a step back and the people of Florida need to understand the attack. He wants to disband the teachers union. So dangerous! Parents don't have Rights in FL. @ScottSoCal One of the themes of his campaign was "speak whatever language you want, we're all Ukrainians." His opponent was... not quite as bad as Trump, but like the "ENGLISH ONLY!!!' cretins we have here. If you're in SoCal you can imagine the kind of assholery it would take to ban Spanish or tell people who grew up speaking Spanish that they're not real Americans. Not a perfect analogy but it's a heated issue there. Less so now as many people have stopped speaking russian of their own accord.
@ScottSoCal my thinking is defined by "leaps in logic"! I've always collected knowledge, all different kinds of facts about how things work, bits and pieces from every field and while I can't remember when this has lead to me solving a problem, I have a bad memory I just know it's happened in the past, the most recent "leap" I can recall is thinking about light sabers and "accidentally" working out why the basic/neutral guard for a two handed blade is what it is from like a physics perspective.

@ScottSoCal Yes, russian is his first language, as is overwhelmingly common in his hometown. Olena also grew up speaking russian.
He knew Ukrainian (it's required in schools and he traveled a lot) but he didn't speak it regularly until 2019. During his campaign he had a tutor and instructed his staff to only speak Ukrainian around him.
In his early speeches it does sound kind of stilted compared to the way he speaks now.
