Welcome to social media where the punishment for exaggeration and hyperbole is the death penalty.

I wonder, do the radio waves and microwaves and whatnot that astronomers receive from space have similar layers and harmonics to the sound waves we hear on earth? And, can you hear two gamma bursts or whatever interfere with each other as their waves cross paths, the way that the sound from separate ocean waves interact on the shore?

In 2016, at the age of 89, Opal Lee walked 1,400 miles from her home in Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C., in an effort to get #Juneteenth recognized as a national holiday. Today we look to the stars and celebrate every step.

Fedi is the most strange thing in the world.

On normal social media, you write a message and people just ignore it forever.

Here, you write a message, it stays ignored for 1 or 2 years, and then all of a sudden, for no reason, with no explanation, someone finds it somehow, boosts it, and it gets 200 likes and 120 boosts.

What the fuck.

I'm sure someone will boost this message in 2021 or 2022.

@dmacphee it’s insane that we’ve reached a point where millions of people think that the right way to reach truth in medicine is for a doctor to go on the radio and debate a comedian.

Enormous bird dropping - 50p for scale.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads who may not have been present during procreation, but got here as soon as they could.

I propose a moratorium on pizza until this country gets its act together!

I wrote about why Twitter has become a national security threat, and how its owner keeps making decisions that help violent autocrats and harm democracies around the world. Currently, Musk is not only re-platforming Kremlin-linked accounts β€” he’s amplifying them, despite Russia’s continued involvement in war crimes and the distribution of terroristic content.

Lonely ...

I've been wondering whether or not to use this photo. Sometimes, it takes the right mindset to see the beauty in a moment. The bird looks like a white pelican, and it's perched on what is probably some sort of navigational sign. That's Calcasieu Lake in the background, it's a large brackish lake to the east of the refuge. Locals call it big lake.

I'll need to make a decision on whether for file this in landscapes or white pelican. I don't have a seascape file, but the need may arise. Thus is the stressful life of a retiree.

"Sabine National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1937, is one of more than 560 refuges within America's National Wildlife Refuge System. Located eight miles south of Hackberry, on State Highway 27 in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, the refuge occupies the marshes between Calcasieu and Sabine lakes in southwest Louisiana." - fws.gov
