Looks like the approach will be three-fold:

1. Set up a Mozilla instance
2. Study and learn about the Fediverse
3. Build new initiatives based on ActivityPub

Before building new tech, Mozilla wants to be an active participant in the Fediverse and learn from it—not go pushing its weight around like a gorilla.

I think I was most disappointed about people on the internet when I made a gag about the kids show Bluey and a confusion over Bluey also being slang for a porno, and the first 10 comments steadfastly rejected the notion that it was slang for porno.

Everything else, all the hate etc I expect, but that was pure disappointment.

Oh! One other memory of when my mom was in hospice.

My mom never drank alcohol, but in her last week, she suddenly said she wanted a beer and asked me to go to the store to buy some.

I was totally in shock, but also thinking “who am I to deprive this dying woman of her last wish to drink a beer?” so I went to the store and grabbed a sampler pack of beer.

I headed back and asked her which one she wanted to try and she laughed and said:

“Oh, I don’t want a beer. I just thought you and your dad could each have one so you could stop being so uptight and SERIOUS about everything.”
