selfie, eye contact

I've had this shirt for a while and I'm bummed no one's gotten the reference 😔

getting doom to run on a toaster is cool or whatever. but what the actual 10-year-old me wanted was to be able to run half-life on my pentium 120 MHz at a reasonable frame rate without shrinking the rendered screen area down to the size of a postage stamp

taking out the recycling bins and still seeing a small amount of daylight left at 9PM.

it was calm and serene in a way I liked.

there's something about these kind of nights that I really like, in a way I can't easily describe yet.

nothing is more frustrating than seeing people posting their live reactions of a games press conference on social media.

like, there's no stream chat or voice call you can do that instead so I can like, actually be able to see cool things on social media??

turns out changing out an old phone you've had since 2017 (an LG K10) for a more recent phone (a Google Pixel 6a) makes a big difference in terms of phone usage.

Things are smooth! and responsive!

I can play games on this damn thing now!

feels pretty good tbh

the easiest way to make me happy is complimenting me

alternatively: a cinnamon roll

social anxiety vent

if there's *anything* I want to get better at, it's having one-on-one conversations with folks and not just posting on group chats.

it's hard for me to get out of that mindset of "I only need to message someone if I need to ask them for something", though.

is there a trick to socializing that I'm missing?

Another month passes by and I got more cash from the folks who support my Patreon.

It always amazes me that there's people that care about my stuff enough to throw a buck or two my way, honestly.

Cool tip for queer people this month: “if someone doesn’t think you’re a person, you don’t have to be nice to them”

selfie

21 months and I think I'm looking alright.

television copaganda

found out that World's Wildest Police Videos is on YouTube and have been casually rewatching them.

That was one show that I used to watch a lot, primarily because of the shocking content.

Nowadays it's a bit of a harder watch, especially when some of the police's actions are lauded and praised.

It's a thing that could potentially work as an essay about how prevalent cop shows were in the 1990s...

hey if I want to listen to elvis costello and the attractions' "(I don't want to go to) Chelsea" on loop for a half hour I should be allowed to without being shamed for it

I used to have a foobar2000 plugin that kept count of the number of times I played a song.

downside is this got me to like, feel ashamed for listening to the same song for an hour

so I'm glad it broke when I updated foobar2000 to 2.0, I don't need that guilt.

Forgot how good the soundtrack to Valis III on the Genesis was.

(I should probably play it sometime.)

was looking through my library of books and found out I have all but three of John Gardner's run of James Bond novels.

maybe that's what I'll read next sometime.

mild spoilers for myhouse.wad, a doom level

I mean, that eerie tune that plays during myhouse definitely hits me in a way I didn't expect.

been listening to a bunch of ambient instrumental music.

makes it pretty easy to hit me in the feels and cry, that's for sure.
