New on Patreon: I write a bit about my frustration with puzzle platformers, and how a plucky little game called Celeste changed my opinions on them.

btw, free for everyone to read. Gonna do a test run of doing this rather than paywalling it for a few days.

I always struggle with wanting to write stuff, but it seems when I start, it's difficult for me to stop unless I feel there's a solid conclusion.

Anyway I'll probably have something to post in the coming days.

(to the tune of Neil Sedaka's Bad Blood: )

One of those projects I hope comes to reality some day is like, a complete collection of Price is Right music.

I think there's a lot of stuff over the past 50+ years of the show that could comprise of *multiple* albums.

Plus hey, studio quality tunes and not like low-quality bitcrushed MP3s!

This goes out to the other #trans people in the Fediverse, let's destroy the myth that "you're too old" to start transitioning later in life. I started hormones when I was 35 and my changes have been amazing..

..how old were YOU when you started your transition or HRT?

Please boost for visibility :)

An important aspect of the hacker ethos is the "got so mad at broken proprietary thing that I fixed it myself" attitude. It runs explicitly counter to the cop mentality half of infosec has these days.

Celeste has further cemented my belief that I genuinely don't like platformers that require precision platforming and failing it results in immediate death.

Because of that, I didn't finish VVVVVV, and barely tolerated my playthroughs of Blood of the Werewolf and Hell Yeah for my blog.

Went down one of those video game rabbit holes where I found out that Karaoke Revolution was initially made by Harmonix (the Rock Band folks), and that Karaoke Revolution Party supports Dance Dance Revolution pads.

Add another game to the "supports the DDR pad" pile alongside ESPN Track & Field...

if you've tried to use an original xbox controller under windows 10 and have had issues with XBCD (no rumble) and Xb2XInput (delayed/stuck inputs) check out my fork which improves polling by using async libusb i/o

I have a bunch of video game posters from2009 when I went to PAX.

Stuff like Blink, Gran Turismo PSP, Rogue Warrior and Wet.

I don't need them, but I'm not sure how one sells them.
