work sucks

Something tells me I need to raid the discount Blu-ray rack the next time I go to the store in case this ever happens again.

Always helps to have "offline" entertainment anyhow.

I also realized during this internet outage that whoa, I don't have a lot of "offline" stuff in my house. Not a lot of movies, very few games installed that aren't on Steam.

I ended up watching Safe House, an action-thriller starring Patrick Stewart as a paranoid ex-soldier in an overly protected house, which was pretty good.

The other film I watched, After the Sunset, was a mediocre heist film that I honestly tuned out about halfway through.

The replacement cable is now wired around the floor, wrapped around the door frames, and a hole drilled through it to the mdeom.

The hole is a bit sloppy and there's a bit of excess cable, but christ it looks better than it did previously, that's for sure.

When I was removing the old cable, I saw so many kinks and bends in the cables that I'm amazed we got *any* stable internet connection.

Clearly this was installed by an amateur. Or someone desperate to go home, either way.

So a year or so back I upgraded to a new internet/TV package that was Quite A Steal™️ at the time.

The schmuck who wired the ethernet cables did it in a sloppy, "get it done so I can get out of here" sort of way: Sticking it on the ceiling, leaving giant gaps near corners, and wrapping it around the door jamb instead of drilling a hole through it.

That is likely the reason why my internet stopped working at 1:30AM last night.

Today was quite a day.

Changed TV providers, fixed a year-long cable issue with my ISP...

Now I am content with relaxing.

it's immensely amusing to me how you can just string 77 different italo disco songs with a straight drumline to tie them together and it sounds perfect youtube.com/watch?v=m3LJDpbPaX

EVERY MORNING I WAKE UP AND OPEN PALM SLAM A VHS INTO THE SLOT. IT'S ONCE IN A LIFETIME AND RIGHT THEN AND THERE I START DOING THE MOVES ALONGSIDE WITH THE MAIN CHARACTER, DAVID BYRNE

Just woke up and for some reason my brain thought "Burger King foot lettuce" should play in my head in an endless loop.

I hate everything.

I kinda miss how basically half of all late 90's/early 2000's electronics were housed in transparent plastic with loud colors.

What is spam according to Outlook:
- A newsletter covering right-wing news *that I subscribe to*
- A newsletter from Bethesda about me not playing Quake Champions recently

What isn't spam and ended up in my inbox:
- Some garbage email from a "recruitment department" that's clearly spammed to several emails and CCed to me.

Have I mentioned I fucking hate email sometimes?

hiveway?

what the hell is going on with this "hiveway" garbage

welp, thanks to Giant Bomb's new scientific method, Power Moves will likely no longer be the worst game ever.

dreams, death

Had a dream where I was late to school (?) and saw us get trapped outside while somebody shoots one of the other members dead.

Yet we were all listening to an audiobook-style game with barcodes? Maybe it wasn't meant to be real...

That moment when I go through Miitomo's photos and realize a lot of them is my Mii in a dress or skirt.

oh.
