getting doom to run on a toaster is cool or whatever. but what the actual 10-year-old me wanted was to be able to run half-life on my pentium 120 MHz at a reasonable frame rate without shrinking the rendered screen area down to the size of a postage stamp

if there's *anything* I want to get better at, it's having one-on-one conversations with folks and not just posting on group chats.
it's hard for me to get out of that mindset of "I only need to message someone if I need to ask them for something", though.
is there a trick to socializing that I'm missing?

found out that World's Wildest Police Videos is on YouTube and have been casually rewatching them.
That was one show that I used to watch a lot, primarily because of the shocking content.
Nowadays it's a bit of a harder watch, especially when some of the police's actions are lauded and praised.
It's a thing that could potentially work as an essay about how prevalent cop shows were in the 1990s...
