I personally see furry as inextricably linked to queerness because Fursonas are an implicit declaration of radical autonomy over one's own identity and how other people see you.
It's impossible to separate queerness from furry as long as that's the center of it.

You can disagree with the fediblock protest, but it objectively did work to get the heat off of jorts.horse, who were being targeted for two easily ignorable joke posts on fediblock.
Now the anger is dispersed among all of us who showed solidarity for them and they are less targeted.
