i am begging people to understand the difference between what is technically possible and what is morally tolerable.
my website https://maple.pet is already part of 2 webrings, the low-tech webring and the fancy fursona webring
i think i want to make my own webring, the "fuck google" webring, with arbitrary rules/vetoing by myself
there's plenty of general-purpose webrings already, i wanna take charge of one in my own means
if you reply to the post above's question i'll consider you for it (and make a better guideline/call for pages later)
Speaking of music, if you spent any time on a C64 growing up, you know that Rob Hubbard was the undisputed king of SID chip music. He made that thing make sounds from another world, his melodies were memorable, he is the best.
Anyway I just recently discovered there are nine excellent albums of his music out there! Here’s one: https://songwhip.com/robhubbard/commodore-64-sid-anthology-vol-2
I'd like to hire a trans web designer for some Wordpress (Divi) and Peertube designs. It's a side project of mine that I want to look nice. Do you know someone? The general gist of what the project is about: my new special interest is fighting games and I'm putting something together where I can infodump all the things. TLDR a blog and video site about sucking at fighting games 😂 I don't have a huge budget for it (like maybe a few hundred USD max) but I'm hoping to put some money into trans pockets (or purses... sorry trans girls, they've taken our pockets, alas).
Six months into 2023, I've run 1,176km. That's nearly as far as I ran in all of 2022. I'm on pace to break 2,000km by the end of this year, which would shatter my previous best of 1,841km – a number I hit in 2018, after starting HRT but before the spiro had erased much of my muscle.
I am 42 years old and I've never been a stronger runner. It's astonishing what one can do in a body that actually feels like an ally.
someone just used React.js as an example of facebook “playing nice” and well.. i was able to interact with the react engineers on twitter years ago. they were quite shockingly open with the fact they intended react to be an embrace extend extinguish strategy aimed at the web as a whole, in tandem with react native. the long term vision was to have react native, painting directly to something like webgl or webgpu, then get rid of the rest of the web platform. super surprised they admitted it.
AI ethics good and bad thread
Bad: In contrast, Microsoft finished an AI product and then immediately fired their entire AI ethics team.
Strangely, I think it is interesting they even had a team to begin with. Lots of companies don't even think AI ethics is necessary, when in my opinion it is paramount. But ethics doesn't make money I guess...

Good: Adobe Firefly... I can't believe I'm about to congratulate them but, here it goes! They only train their image generation content based on opted-in content they explicitly have permission and the rights too.
People have critiqued that Adobe is falling behind on AI. And it's because they are doing it ethically, the right way, get over it lol. I applaud them.

Bad: All of this, and in the end the best we can hope for is #Craptions

It's possibly even worse to have inaccurate captions than no captions at all. These tools often get words, grammar, and punctuation wrong. They don't understand acronyms or the names of products. They will misspell someone's name or not understand neopronouns. Sometimes they even attribute what was said to the wrong person. This hurts everyone consuming the transcript.
Never mind, it’s fucking fake. AI shit generated by some asshole named Dmitrii. https://www.reddit.com/r/boardsofcanada/comments/14fvnas/excuse_me_but_wtf_is_this/
