"LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall has appointed a new chair who wants to 'get the UK back on track as the world leader for LGBTQ+ equality'.
On Tuesday (17 October), the charity announced that Cat Dixon – Stonewall’s longest serving trustee and formerly vice chair – had been unanimously elected as chair by the board of trustees."

Obviously, there's only so much one organisation can do, especially when the ruling party is overtly fascist, and the "opposition" can barely distinguish itself from them, but if Cat Dixon can follow through and taking genuinely wholehearted stances against the UK government's ongoing "war on woke", perhaps we can begin to see all these timid MPs begin to muster the "courage" to embrace equality, and make the UK a welcoming place for queer folk of all stripes.
To protect your privacy and shield yourself against 0-days and malicious advertisers, an adblocker is an important part of your security stance.
The FBI, NSA, CISA, and UK National Cyber Security Centre all recommend adblocking as a protective measure.
You'd never disable your firewall or antivirus because a site asked you to. NEVER DO THIS WITH YOUR ADBLOCKER.
That's the only pertinent point here. Everything else is noise.
I wish more journalists covering YouTube's crackdown on ad blockers told the blunt truth about what it really is & why blocking ads is so prevalent:
It's a simple money grab by a corporation that already has too much money (Google).
Google is going after ad blockers because enough people have figured out that ad networks are genuinely as unsafe for their own computers as LimeWire ever was.
Keep #adblocking.
@mavica_again This makes perfect sense.
The year is 2030.
Computers boot directly into the browser. IDEs are just a web app now, running in the GPU. No one knows why. Or how.
All programs run in 4 nested containers on top of a hypervisor abstracting over the 5 major computational clouds. The last time a branch was predicted correctly, in any CPU anywhere, was 4 years ago.
Cloud costs are withdrawn directly from your retirement fund.
Ext7 just came out, it's written in Javascript and uses AI to guess what the file may contain.
@mavica_again At the rate I'm going, i'll hear for myself in a few months. I'm listening to about a year's worth a week.
#TIL not one but *three* top-40 singles asked the question, "What is love?":
Haddaway, obviously, in 1993, and it reached #11, the highest of them all.
Howard Jones asked in 1984, but it petered out at #33.
But in 1959, the Playmates reached #15 with the question and some stereotypical objectified guesses.
