@revenant @Xkeeper @KS I have some authentic swedish salted licorice that my ex gave me and I'm afraid to try it

Do you ever think about sprite comics/ flash animations and how there's like, a whole art form that's already died out and will never get appreciation in our lifetime. Like you're not gonna take an art class and hear about the stuff I grew up watching online, because it was all unlicensed, and now most of its already gone. And it's not that I'm saying it was good, because you don't measure art by "good". There's a whole generation of artistry people poured over and it's gone or soon to be.

@teaduckie I know some people who have, and met people who became longtime friends there, but never someone who found a lasting relationship (just friends and hookups)

@NovaSquirrel I would love to be your friend! I know a few other people in nesdev and adjacent communities, although the closest I've gotten to doing that stuff is making silly songs in famitracker
As far as cons, I go to Gencon in Indy every year, and I've been to Acen, Anime North, and Youmacon before, which are all vaguely close to you… I'm not part of the furry community but there's a lot of overlap with animanga fandom and tabletop games fandom so I do know a bunch of furries at least

@NovaSquirrel Ah, I'm in the opposite direction then (I'm down in Bloomington)
I have a partner in Detroit and another in London Ontario so I drive through Fort Wayne like once a month, but, eh. Maybe we can meet up at a con sometime tho? it's still cool to see a fellow hoosier on somewhere as queer as computerfairies of all places, hehe

@NovaSquirrel oh hey I'm in the indy area?? hi
if you're local maybe we should meet up for lunch or board games sometime

@Ren_Ardana I actually haven't really found a vegan cheese I like? I guess Teese is worlds better than Daiya but overall I just am not a fan
I use a spicy tomato sauce, spinach, zucchini, and carrots, tofu mixed by hand with a bunch of herbs and spices, nutritional yeast
if I'm serving meat eaters I usually add soy crumbles cooked with garlic and onion and spices but it's good without them, too

this is 2018's "recording is killing the music industry, we left this side of the tape blank so you can help" and I'm hella here for it

@Ren_Ardana but at heart I'm a huuuuge fan of falafel, curry, and noodle dishes of all kinds! oh, and I cook a pretty good vegan lasagna ❤️

@Ren_Ardana I've still never read Akira! The movie is absolutely beautiful, of course, but you can tell they had to rush the story and leave a lot out. Diamond Age is a great novel!! I like Hitchhiker's Guide, Feed, Jennifer Government, the Culture series, and I have a soft spot for older Star Wars EU stuff too even if most of it was silly, hehe
Black bean burgers are great! and burritos are definitely a staple for me, we have a local place that uses all locally-grown ingredients that's rly nice

@Ren_Ardana I tend to like really weird games, both on the crunchier end of the spectrum (Exalted, Weapons of the Gods) and the simpler end (Fiasco, Monsterhearts)! In general I like systems that want to have a voice in how you play them and what kinds of stories you make, and which enforce their genre conceits in the rules. If it's a generic system, I want it simple and out of the way (like Fate Accelerated). I'm not a huge fan of D&D, but I do like 4E and Pathfinder's settings and 5E's rules.

@Ren_Ardana Hi and welcome! What games do you like ? do you have a favorite moment from a trpg session ? What's your favorite scifi media and why is it the Ancillary trilogy? what foods do you like ?

CWs aren’t here to limit you

they’re here to set you free

@maple (but yes please do cw anything anyone asks you to omg)

Just so we're clear, I may be femme, but I've had enough of people calling me a girl to last multiple lifetimes. You don't get to decide my gender.
