So, the current tech director apparently thinks I'd be a good replacement for her, so that's a good(?) sign, especially given I put her down as a reference. This is going to be really interesting going forward. I may just end up running the IT show for a school district. Gods help me.

The principal, for what it's worth, does have a degree in CS, so it's not like she doesn't know what she's talking about, but I'm not sure her evaluation is 100% accurate. But knowing I have her behind me, and being relatively certain I'd have the current tech director behind me, I may as well. I mean, if I do get the job, that'll be a pretty decent paycheck, so...

Don't get me wrong. If I get the job, I can definitely do it. But it'll be a very rough start. I am not qualified to do this. I have very little experience in school IT and none in actually running the show. Like I said, if I get the job, I can work things out, but it'll be a heck of a fucking time

A lot's been said about imposter syndrome and how valid it is, and the gods know I've experienced my fair share of impostor syndrome over stuff I can do, but I'm currently, despite lacking any reasonable qualifications, applying for tech director of a school because the HS principal thinks I should and nothing more, so I'm gonna call these thoughts reasonably valid

Since it's something on my mind right now, I'd like to give a shoutout to my high school Spanish teacher, Señora Smith. When I started high school, I did not want to take Spanish. I thought it was dumb and I'd never need it anyways. But, Sra. Smith managed to not just instill in me an interest in Spanish, though she did do that, but also a love of languages in general, that would expand into an interest in linguistics as a whole.

If you've got the time to spare, I'm pretty sure there are no downsides to fucking with these sorts of spammers, so definitely go and have some fun doing that. It can lead you down some fun roads.

The best part is that I didn't send the passport to "the guy wanting to give me money". I put it in the form that the supposed HSBC sent me, then the original email address sent it back to me angry and accusing me of trying to scam him out of his money. The whole thing was just a real fun time, honestly.

Whilst I wait to see, as a fun fact for you, I once had one of these idiots threaten to call the Metropolitan Police on me. This was after, among other things, I sent him "my passport", quote-unquote, which was just Jorgi Costava's fake passport from Papers, Please. Man, that was a heck of a ride.

Been a while since I decided to toy with one of these. Wonder if I'll get anything fun back...

You know, on the one hand, I'm glad to have my bipolar disorder under control. On the other, it means I get to be depressed about something I can't get help with: the fact I'm trapped in a rapidly collapsing country that couldn't care less about or for my existence. Woo...
