This is why. (Ultima 6's startup intro as played on the OPL3 of an AWE32. Very loud and noisy.)
@azushark I read what you wrote and still didn't expect that...
@BatElite strangely enough it's actually a problem with what the game sends to the card and not the music file itself (which can be played through adplay on the same sound card without an issue)

@BatElite i mean, the game was released shortly after the first version of the Sound Blaster was released, so it may have been somewhat compatible with those!
AWE32 is too new for it
