name any two things and i will queer the binary live on camera

@Wewereseeds@organizing.social I however don't mean this being too much of the case on Mastodon, as the community is still small, fewer liberals and people seems a bit more aware about this. However there are dangerous sprouts of this toxic ideology here and there that we should definitely not ignore.

@Wewereseeds@organizing.social Exactly, and these clouts will even be feed into more hostile mechanisms of social spheres. As I said, clout chasing is just as addicting as pursuing monetary capital. People can and will resort to anything if it means maximizing profit.

@Wewereseeds@organizing.social And I agree that's good practice. Dealing with social capital is different from monetary capital and honestly I haven't found a clear solution to it, only seen its consequences. But doing what you can to even out the odds is helpful.

@Wewereseeds@organizing.social This is just my opinion as an anarchist

@Wewereseeds@organizing.social Believe one carrying monetary/influential power over others to "use it for the great of good" is a liberal (and red liberal) fantasy. No one is immune to corruption, if they themselves haven't been a wolf in sheep clothing from the start.

@Wewereseeds@organizing.social Additionally this is not a mutual and equal relationship as how you made it sound. The relations between an entertainer/preacher/politician and a consumer isn't equal. No matter how they spin it, the consumer is not their friends. Simply because there is only one direction from which a voice is heard clearly and examined carefully. The others in this relationship is merely a set of data samples.

@Wewereseeds@organizing.social "due to personal connection or shared interest" I would argue that's the case. Think about it in terms of social dynamics. How much is your voice heard over others when there's dispute? On top of that, many socially engineer their appeal in these social spaces to gather followers. The more people possess clouts, the more they'll try to preserve it by any cost.

@Ferretsyndicate@radical.town If they recognize you as a leader the solution would be guillotine

@Wewereseeds@sunbeam.city Honestly it's almost scary how they're slipping in narratives to normalize the practice of clout chasing

@Wewereseeds@sunbeam.city "some people being more popular then others in social media space is just common sense" kind of rhetoric.

@Wewereseeds@sunbeam.city And yeah clout chasers would do pretty much anything to increase their social capital. It's not all that different from the concept of "liberal communist": creating a sense of comfort in what they're doing and their followers while masquerade the aesthetics of revolutionary.

@Wewereseeds@sunbeam.city Judging from the look of the likes of witches.live, I'd say whiteknighting clout chasers seems more common

Christchurch, NZ bans manifesto

@acrata Censoring the crimes of white supremacy in the name of "fighting hate speech" (but still let hate speech media run rampant on social media, especially Youtube)

Christchurch, NZ bans manifesto

All the ones I suspected would have these opinions about clouts end up having it. Great.

@noelle Alright I have to wonder what sprouted these clout posts? Did I miss something?
