I know 2 things about fighting games and none of it is Guilty Gear related :X

waiting for a friend to call me back, guess it's time to clean the whole ass apt

I finally got most of the cool dragoon armor, I finally look cool in FFXIV orz

becoming reobsessed with FFCC and Kiki's Delivery Service in the same week feels like a sign I should prioritize traditional art and skills

I don't really care if it's cringe or out of date to use emoticons and/or emojis, at least I don't leave people wondering what kind of tone my message is supposed to have >:\

it occurred to me to finally just look up background on Kiki's Delivery Service and the answer was pretty interesting!

the country Kiki ends up residing in would probably be easiest to figure out if I actually took the time to write down any of the signs that are shown in town

although I think Europe has a lot of language overlap between country boundaries so maybe it wouldn't be easier

and then there's the tl;dr maybe it's just a mishmash of things that seem charming because it's a movie

black and white tiny screen TV's that (most) people seem to have is like, 40's or 50's right? the style of telephone seems to match that general era

but then the background people look like they're from the 80's (or Lilo & Stitch)

Kiki and her family (minus the pocket radio and her dad's car) seem to be living further in the past with no TV & phone (that's shown anyway)

and then there's the fucking dirigible

forgot to share this in the moment, but I saw Kiki's delivery service in theaters on Wednesday

but since I've already seen it a dozen times I end up spending most of the movie trying to figure out which time period and country it's supposed to be taking place in

tfw your watching YGO, having a grand ole time, and then finding out your sona is a card in the game

don't think we can hug, hope, or hate our way outta this one

the book is "Queer A Graphic History" by Meg-John Barker illustrated by Julia Scheele

Show thread

I don't think it's worth mentioning in an online book review, but I'm so confused on why the illustrator used "angry" marks instead of a symbolic star for things that are sparkly?

is it really something only otakus know about??? does the "blood vein" angry symbol not exist outside of Japan??

are generic stars copyrighted???

why???

it only took 2ish months but I finally finished this graphic novel on queer theory I got from the library!
