Here's my text hot take:
WITHOUT USING A PHONE WITH EITHER A NOTCH OR A HOLEPUNCH CAMERA...I feel like I'd rather have a notch than a holepunch camera just floating there. I feel like I would constantly see that black circle as just like, a spot of dead pixels
@evie wait what phone do you have bun?
@MochiWaifu smaller Pixel 3
@evie oh right you bought the childrens phone, i forgot~
(jk, but for a moment i forgot the smaller one doesn't have a notch ;; )
@MochiWaifu more like the perfect one handed phone that can still go fullscreen and see all the content without a bathtub in the way
@evie size matters, everyone Knödel that uwu
@evie *knows
wth
@MochiWaifu is knödel like a cute little German nickname, like in France calling your sweetie a little cabbage, like saying "oh my little dumpling"
@evie uh maybe, i haven't heard anyone use it like that tho
but knödel are tasty, and so are you,
@MochiWaifu I've probably had some before when I was younger
@evie come over and i'll make you some
@MochiWaifu aww heck yeah!
@evie you'll have to pay for them in though
@evie put a screen on each side, one side is all screen, other side has camera stuff and a little screen for selfies or whatever
@evie perfect, just like that
@troubleMoney or, my personal favorite piece of over engineering....the Opportunity N-1, which had a motorized swivel part for the rear camera that turned it to be the front camera
@evie @troubleMoney microsoft has patents related to their foldy tablet/phone thing about putting half the lens in one half of the phone and half of it in the other and I want to believe that this would allow one camera to have a wider fov when it's facing you (unfolded) vs when it's rear facing (folded)

@masklayer @troubleMoney that's pretty awesome
Also F to pay respects for the MS Courier
@evie @troubleMoney Foldy tablet thing will probably still happen maybe
@evie oh god, what. yes, I'll take a notch over this please D:
Also, here's an additional hot take:
Whole pretty neat from a technical and nerdy standpoint, having a front camera that slides up or pops up is a terrible ideal to get around having a notch. More moving parts like that means easier breakage. People complain about glass all the time, just imagine if their camera breaks and can't use it anymore
