Discord's interface seems intentionally designed to stress you out and also be really annoying if you want to just catch up on all the messages you missed

@lizardsquid Glad I’m not the only one feeling that way! I can’t use it because of that…
Also there is always too much noise, too many channels, too many servers…

@Kooda it would be less stressful if there was only one channel per server, even if that meant there were many more servers

@lizardsquid That’s basically what every other chat system do, and that’s fine I think. ^^

@lizardsquid you can right-click on a server icon and pick "mark as read", if that helps any.

Discord stuff 

@lizardsquid I found Slack to be much worse somehow, and eventually I had to decide that in most channels it just wasn't worth loading any backlog besides what it loads at first. Much of it was vapid.

I don't know why people keep excusing social media for being pretty much abusively manipulative by design.

Glad I left, but for different reasons.
