someone on another instance reminded me of an experimental graphics library for haskell, and now I want to make a 3d thing

@puppy@sleeping.town it's because regex was designed by programmers, where the notion of "a word" is a bit less useful
(although as a linguist I could easily go on a rant about how the idea of "a word" is actually.... really complex and weird)

@puppy@sleeping.town no, regex never matches against whole words - if you want it to match against whole words you need to put spaces around the word you're matching
