scabtech // uber

uber’s innovation isn’t its app but its deflection of liability onto the workers. pdx radio cap is a worker-owned taxi service and they have a dispatcher app too, and it’s just as convenient. all the trimmings that uber uses to enhance the disenfranchisement of drivers are unique to their hostile motivations. the quality of life improvements that software applications offer need have nothing to do with the poverty gun.

Classic Doctor Who :: [an aside (Season 1)]

hmm, thinking about The Reign of Terror again.... maybe I should downgrade it from "Watch" to "Maybe"

It wasn't bad, I'm just not sure that people would enjoy it enough to keep watching through it

@eryn I'm not very good!

But I'm starting to learn again too, so we might end up at similar levels of ability!

Classic Doctor Who :: [Season 5 → The Ice Warriors]

ok, this is getting really obnoxious.

I'm all for not blindly trusting computers, but at one point the Doctor does some maths on some pieces of paper, and is offended that they would double-check his results with a computer.

That's exactly the situation the doctor SHOULD be ok with – because if there's a descrepancy, then we know that either the original maths was wrong, or the computer was wrong, and from there we can fix things.

I’ll never forgive the internet for training a generation of artists and writers to call what they make “content.”

Boxes have contents. You’re a fucking ARTIST. You make ART. Own it.
