@shekkiesqueaks fish has better completion, functions/spontaneous automation is easier (because you can easily write functions in the command line, rather than having to get a text editor, and you can also save functions you wrote with `funcsave function_name`) and a bunch of other stuff!
@Felthry @shekkiesqueaks nah ps1 is dumb and I only know about it because it's a pain
@shekkiesqueaks I've had that experience with a lot of stuff, but fish was designed to get rid of the annoying things from bash, so I've been really happy with it
@Felthry @shekkiesqueaks it's a variable in the bash command line, you can edit it to change what the prompt (the bit before you enter the command) looks like
@shekkiesqueaks I use fish instead of bash, and editing the prompt is way easier there
@teaduckie that's ok! learning programming isn't something you should feel you have to do
