"It verbs, the subject" is a top-tier English sentence construction and we need to use it more often.

probably the trippyëst thing about singular they for me is that it expressly only works for animate references, even though plural they has no such distinction.

so you can't use "they" to describe a pencil. but you CAN use "they" two describe TWO pencils.

@codl I'll edit your toots, but it will take a week of processing time per toot

@kibi @witchfynder_finder @zatnosk ...can I add space and plant classes to the noun class system of one of my languages?

tired: i want an app
wired: i want a nap

@witchfynder_finder @kibi you could also argue that the /n/ in "an" would assimilate in the phrase "an night", producing /æn'ɒɪ̞t/

*grabs flashlight awkwardly, holding it with both wing-paws under xer head for spooky illumination* it's _midnight_

(plus a few minutes)

morrowind

remembering just now that I need to actually work on not doing exactly the same thing at the start of every game

Sedya Neen → Attempt smuggler's cave and fail → silt strider to balmora → join mage's and fighter's guilds → do first couple of quests for them → got to caius → become blade

is the start of EVERY GAME I've played and it's bad

I should like... go to suran? or ald-ruhn?

idk...
