@puppy@sleeping.town (aside: make sure not to mix up "a language" and "the language's writing system", because a language develops naturally, whereas writing systems are all human inventions and are generally much more flawed!)
@puppy@sleeping.town another point: Chinese doesn't actually have words, the translation of "word" was actually invented *after* the europeans brought the concept of "the word" over to China, where it doesn't fit neatly into a box

pet peeves: Slack, Discord and other applications with "loading" screens that steal focus *twice* during startup
this is especially irksome because Slack and Discord in particular take a while to start up, so you end up either having to get focus back to something else *twice* or waiting for ~10 seconds unable to do anything else while they finish starting up

This is a (WIP) image of an AI who's currently (and since her "birth") been trapped inside a Central Terran Mandate worldscape, serving as the computer core for some device, probably a spaceship. She's not awake yet, but when she does wake, the crew of the ship she's on will likely not survive
