Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Details on the new ordering

So the new ordering is based on half years.

For each half year:

• First, add a segment for all the Main Range releases from that half of the year.
• Second, add segments for each named Big Finish series with their concluding episode in that half year.
• Third, add a segment for all of the BBV releases from that half year (if there were any).
• Finally, add any miscellaneous or special releases into a "Misc" segment.

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Details on the new ordering

The old ordering was:

"Each series is organised by the release date of its LAST episode, and then placed in the list accordingly."

Which made sense for the original guide, which was just one continuous list of audio dramas.

But when I added numbered segments to make navigation easier, suddenly that no longer really made sense, because it was messy.

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Update ✨

Really big update this time!

averylychee.neocities.org/doct

• Rewrote the intro section.
• Re-arranged *the entire listening order*, to hopefully make it easier for people following along to keep track.

the idea

(it's also not finished yet, and because it's completely breaking all the segment numbers I can't upload a WIP)

the idea

It has been much more time consuming than I thought, but definitely worth it.

It's a subtle difference, you probably can't even see it unless you're looking for it, but it makes the ordering *feel* more sensible, and the more clear year boundaries mean that it should be easier for people to keep track of where they're up to.
It also means I've only got one situation where the "next in range" link goes to a segment focused around a different range.

Show thread

the idea

the idea is to divide the audio dramas out into every 6 months of releases.

Then, the segments will look like this:

a. Doctor Who Monthly Range releases for the (first/second) half of <year>.
b. segments for each series that had its final episode in those 6 months
c. BBV releases
d. Miscellaneous releases (like bonus releases or one-off stories)

Rather than having the Miscellaneous releases mixed in with everything else.

This also means it has a more predictable format.

while I was out on a walk, I came up with a way to improve my audio guide...

that will also result in me completely redoing the order of things.

and I am definitely the kind of person who is going to spend the rest of the evening working on that...

As a parting gift for tonight have moff again.

(I'm kinda sad I don't show art much after the first time because a lot of it is gifts to and of people.)

programming stuff

I've been trying to think of a project to work on in idris, and now I think I've got it: a music player.

bethesda broke their computers so now you can download the good elder scrolls for free all this week twitter.com/ElderScrolls/statu

Dark Souls III, body horror

I'm playing Dark Souls III and I'm really loving that they decided to mix in a few more cosmic-horror style elements into their fantasy game.

Like these ossified folk, reaching out in a desperation that is never heard

so last weekend i went to london to catch up with some friends and play some D&D. so here's some sort of crossover or something

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ New Intro

I've rewritten the intro section: it's now longer, but it should give readers a bit more flexibility.

averylychee.neocities.org/doct

Since it's quite long, I won't ask anyone to do this for me, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new intro section (it's everything before the segments themselves).

TECH NEWS: New intel chips coming out this fall have a new protection domain called "Ring -6" which exposes an API to adjust the physical layout of components on the motherboard

Hear ye, hear ye, fediverse! :blob_rave:

With @milia we worked for a few days on a small web project and we are happy to share it with you today!

It's called Souvenir ~

The principle is simple: you can capture a few seconds of your camera and it generates a gif.
It's a mix between Polaroid and the magic photos from Harry Potter!

❖ Now let’s make souvenirs (and share them if you want 👀)
