Wired: Creating a conlang with a letter distribution that makes QWERTY the most efficient layout

so uh apparently i finished the whole picture and forgot to fix a huge flaw

but after some art surgery, hopefully it now looks like sea is turning around and not, like, folded in half

also i made the darkness a bit less stark so you can see what's going on

If you want to check out the audio dramas, but are unsure, checking some of this out will probably help!

(assuming they choose good starting-point episodes)

Classic Doctor Who ░ money and reality

It's become... increasingly difficult for me to watch classic doctor who *in order*.

The DVDs have slowly been going out of stock, and while they are releasing the collections of entire seasons on blu-ray, they're not releasing them particularly fast (or in order – so far it's S12, S19, S18, S10, S23)

So I'm currently watching through Season 18, even though I'm "supposed" to be watching Season 13.

I'm enjoying it, but I can't really add it to the guide.

Classic Doctor Who ░ Pyramids of Mars

Pyramids of Mars is really good – aside from a little bit of filler in the 4th episode, it's fun and engaging, and definitely deserves its status as a fan favourite.

asking for help, boost if you can

y'all, my girlfriend is at risk of getting kicked out of her home, and she's gonna need a place to stay real soon; if anyone in or near the Auckland area can lend a hand with that, please message me ASAP! (and please make sure to boost this too, she deserves somewhere safe to go...!)

so my landlady just told me I'm getting my week's notice on Monday, so I need to be out of here by the 8th of July.

Currently in Northallerton, Hambleton, North Yorkshire.

I don't have a car, I don't know how to use public transport here, my only income is donations from you lot.

The crow with the cloudy eye tapped at the beautiful stained-glass of the tower window.

The sky was a brilliant red; the sun would set soon. It tapped again.

A door opened, footsteps hurried, a latch lifted...

The prince fell backwards as a man with a cloudy eye collapsed upon him.

One long kiss later, the man murmured, "There's still a little sunset left if you want to watch it."

"There'll be other sunsets; there's only one you."

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Bernice Summerfield Audiobooks

Whelp nevermind, the author just introduced a new character as "sexy and oriental-looking"

like, this doesn't feel like a bad book, or a boring book. It feels like a book that I'd love.

And yet I'm not loving it?

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Bernice Summerfield Audiobooks

The only explanation that I can think of is that the author has put the main characters into lethal peril and then gotten them out again with nary a scrape thrice now, and we're only 2 hours in to the book.

So perhaps I subconciously don't view the perils as being genuine?

But I'm not certain that makes sense - I am concerned for the characters' safety, and I don't know that they're going to survive.

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Bernice Summerfield Audiobooks

I've been listening to The Gods of the Underworld, and.... I'm really struggling to stay engaged with it.

I'm really not sure why!

The first audio book (The Doomsday Manuscript) was a really enjoyable listen.

This one has lots of the same stuff: interesting villains with mysterious motivations, an archeological site which isn't what it seems, and Lisa Bowerman's performance is as incredible as usual.

But I'm just... bored.
