board games

Today I sleeved all the cards in the three board games I own (Machi Koro, Lunar Rails, and Forbidden Island).

It took quite a lot of sleeves, because all of those games are very card driven (collectively they have 334 cards), but they're now nicer to shuffle and more protected from damage

The hawk perched on the bleached white skull.

The raven coughed, "That's my spot."

"Why?"

"It's what people expect to see when they come here."

"Sounds like there's a cliché being perpetuated."

The raven considered this, "Yes but... it sets the MOOD, y'know? Makes the humans think about their mortality and all that."

"I would argue that's more the skull than you on it..."

"Granted; I just don't think you'll have the same effect."

Anybody out there know of any good youtube (or equivalent) channels or podcasts about #boardgame and #ttrpg design?

Like GMTK but for #tabletop games I guess, NOT just reviews, like looking at mechanics and theming and all that good stuff

Today

I had a good walk today.

Early in the morning, I was struggling to get out of bed (and missed class because of it), but now I've had a chance to relax and have a destinationless walk, I feel much more calm and happy.

Old Thread Links

I've switched my posts about this stuff to use the hashtag , because that's easy to follow than threads.

But if you want to see the old threads, you can check them out here:

computerfairi.es/@lizardsquid/ for the audio dramas

and computerfairi.es/@lizardsquid/ for the tv episodes.

mastodon test

Question: are hashtags allowed to have hyphens in them?

Test: -find-out

maybe I should change my doctor who threads to be linked by hashtag, so that you don't have to wait for mastodon to load a 100+ toot thread every time you want to look at them

Glimmer Bitkin lives in a swampy forest surrounded by bobbing will-o-wisps. He's solitary and philosophical, though he's so used to being along that his voice is soft and a little mumbly and hard to understand. He doesn't usually dress like a sheriff, but I like the star on his chest carrying the "light source" theme. Glimmer doesn't talk much about his actual job, leading the other bitkin to believe it's something to do with wood (and he's obliging enough to operate a little sawmill in his territory to make blocks of wood for anyone who actually needs one), but actually he's the one controlling the System's light sources, including the sun and moon. He can make colored light sources, directional spotlights, and all sorts of other nice effects.

minecraft ░ Enigmatica 2: light

even though I've been playing in this world for 5 hours or so, I think I'm going to reset it.

Reasons:
• I want acacia and sandstone, but there doesn't seem to be anything but forest for ages.
• I built a "quick rectangle" as my first house, and that decision is still haunting me.
• I never sorted my chests at all, so now I have 10 chests full of random junk
