I found a skin online that I like and still kind of has the same feel, so I'm going to try it out.
I feel weird about using a skin that someone else made, though.
Welcome to the jungle
We've got fun and games
One of them is Monopoly
It's not very fun

Goldy purred, just a little louder than the whirs of the artificial gravity generator.
She was a cat far older than any back on Earth, even with advances in veterinary medicine. No one quite knew how old she WAS, most guessed about 30, some insisted the feline was pushing 50; claiming she'd come with the ship.
In truth, the ship was her's. She was the embodiment of feline curiosity and space was bursting with tantalizing mysteries.

I always underestimate how much better a house looks with a proper roof
minecraft versions
I've honestly barely used any of the mods yet, because I made the classic mistake of building a really awful looking house in a rush before night time, so I've actually spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to fix it (when I really should have just built a different house and then knocked down the old one)

I ended up trying out enigmatica 2 light
and it's good!
• the grass rendering glitch doesn't happen in this pack
• it contains a lot of interesting mods
• it contains a questbook to help you through the mods (although apparently a couple of the quests are broken in the light version, so if your computer can handle the regular version, use that)
• turning on mipmaps made things look so much better.
YOOOOOOOO LOOK AT THIS AMAZING PRE-DAWN IN MINECRAFT WITH @maple's RETRO SHADER (using my own palette but the included palettes are great)
This is my new favorite thing :D

it's still weird to me that mobs in the latest versions of minecraft are persistant... I'm still used to what it was like back in alpha, where mobs ceased to exist entirely once you got too far from them
Now the number of animals in an area are preserved, individual villagers remember if you've treated them badly, and so on...

although: there's definitely something weird with the modpack, because the grass was always the same colour, regardless of biome

whelp, I've managed to ruin my brain by doing this.
I was playing a game in 1.14, but decided to try out a 1.12 modpack.
I couldn't stand the modpack due to the lack of many great things from 1.14, and due to the older textures being a lot less pleasant to look at.
I tried switching back to 1.14, but I can't because I feel frustrated about the lack of mods like minimaps and chisels and bits, and the lack of interesting long term stuff to do.
minecraft versions
hmm, as I suspected, the sheer.... grossness of 1.12's textures made it really difficult for me to get into the modpack.

I think I'm going to try out Paths of Magic 3, but I'm also going to replace JourneyMap with Xaero's Minimap (which I don't actually know how to do, but I guess I'll try?)
