hermitcraft

Season 7 of hermitcraft has been... incredibly rediculous so far.

Yesterday I watched 2 of the hermits accidentally blow up their neighbour's giant goat statue, and replace it with a smiley face.

Today I watched someone turn into a ghast.

programming languages, java

The only real issue I have with Java is that it's strongly typed, but still has null.

If it had been designed without null (i.e. with just the current Optional<T> type, or with something like C#'s Nullable stuff) from the very beginning, I don't think I would have any problems with it.

windows, whinge

I hate how many programs on windows just install their own services that run at launch, and you can't turn them off.

videogame: Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

I'm just starting out with PoE2, and I'm up to the hardest part of playing a computer RPG: deciding which class to play when you don't know how the game works.

racism, colonialism, australia

I want to put *something* in my bio, but I don't want to claim to be on lands that I'm not on.

racism, colonialism, australia

I know that D'harawal seasons cover this region (I'm learning to use their seasons, since they match much better than the European seasons), but once again they're south of here

A likely option is the Eora people, but the best source I have for that says that their lands were bounded at the Northern edge by the Kuringai people, which means either 1) I'm in Kuringai territory or 2) since the Kuringai people technically don't exist, this source isn't trustworthy.

racism, colonialism, australia

I think it would be a good idea to put something like "living on unceded <indigenous people's> land" into my bio.

The issue: I don't know which people were here.

Some sources say Kuringai, except the name "Kuringai" was basically just made up by some white guy, and it isn't a real collection of people.

Some sources say Darug, but then other sources indicate they lived a fair way South or West of here.

music hot take

mozart's music is incredibly boring, and I think it's one of the main reasons why a lot of people don't like classical music.

was thinking about a friend's (@ Frikinky on twitter, nsfw) cozy comics in her setting, Fufuco, and got inspired to doodle a cozy place for gay furry kisses

speedrunning

I'm thinking of getting back into speedruns, but all 3 of my previous speed-games have gotten to the point that it's very difficult for me to even get close to them.

Portal - 18 mins - 12 minutes - 5 minutes
HL2 - 2.5hrs - 1hr 45min - 50 minutes
