help wanted, although none of the common advice I've tried has helped?

origin: Tre (a large kobold city, embeded in a mountain)
why they are a crystal kobold:
In 19 AE, Tre was attacked by a band of roving wizards (they called themselves "adventurers". They were fought off, but the extreme magic usage tore a rift between the Vaer (the source of magic) and Tre. Vaer energy spiraled out, directly hitting and crystallizing Kwyn.
