madness is reading the same choose your own adventure book taking the same choices and expecting different results

reminder that I'm more likely to accept your follow if we've interacted before!

rituals

today's tea ceremony went incredibly poorly

I was upset about the disgusting state my roommates and I had let the kitchen get to, so I couldn't focus on my actions properly

and tea spilt everywhere as it was brewing, so either I put the pot down at an angle and didn't notice or there's a fracture in it and I have to buy a new one

late night thought, birdsite

I'm gonna make a social network that's exactly the same as twitter, except the @ is used for tags and the # is used for usernames

university

I've enrolled in 2 linguistics courses, just got one more course to enrol in...

but what should it be?

our cat was sitting at the flyscreen door like she usually does, and then she suddenly jumps and runs across the room and crashes into a box

so I look over and a stray has appeared, looking in

annoying thing about my dialect of english

we don't drop h at the beginning of words (like americans do - we say herb with a h sound, americans usually say erb)

but we actually do drop it in one specific place: the name of the letter h

Last boost: that's why I advocate *so much* for using languages that don't have null

when you don't have null, you can't get null check errors, which are a *huge* proportion of programming errors

Okay, if you ever feel bad about having screwed up your programming, ask any programmer you really respect what their last bug was, and I guarantee it'll be a null check or an equals check accidentally flipped to not-equals. The more experienced you are in this business, the dumber the bugs seem to get.

oceanic sincere shitposting

from birbhell (twitter.com/girlsrituals/statu ):

'hold on everybody

I JUST REALIZED THERES NO MIRRORS IN THE OCEAN AND IM SCARED SEA SLUGS DONT KNOW HOW BEAUTIFUL THEY ARE'

so, as a memo
please bring a mirror to your nudibranch friends

what I actually *meant* to make: varying line thickness with the angle of the line, then multiplying line lengths by a perlin noise value (controlling multipliers for both with mouseX/mouseY) #typographyexperiments mastodon.social/media/5nfwIfGc
