thoughts on OCaml so far [1/3]

good stuff:
* this is a good functional language
* it's also a good "compromise" language - every Computer Bro who has whinged to me "X is why functional programming isn't good enough" would find those problems solved with this language^
* being able to easily switch between functional and imperative and OO inside the same program is great
* named function arguments is pretty cool, and makes it easier to read other people's code

me: I want to make a let's play series!
also me: I don't have the attention span to watch LPs anymore
also also me: *is incredibly boring when I play games*

something really cool is listening to the first few verses of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, which was written in Middle English

In English history, Old English is the language up to around ~1100 AD, Modern English is everything from Shakespeare onwards (1600s) and Middle English is the stuff in the middle

but when you first listen to it, it sounds so foreign and strange - you can still understand significant parts, so it's not a different *language*, but it is different

Feels good to draw some fuzzy, fangly monsters. And Devilman provides that in spades. Done with ink brush traditionally and colored in Photoshop. #mastodonart #mastoart #creativetoots #fanart #devilman #Amon mastodon.art/media/AmYxiTPrjhV

*remembers I haven't changed my desktop background since I switched to this OS a week and a half ago, and it's still the default background*
