I'm gonna say mojeek is.. situationally useful. It's good for when I have a set of seemingly-unrelated words and I want to find a page with all of them.
@zaxusemk I do not have ADHD, but I am autistic. Best I've been able to come up with is to find something else to do (ideally taking advantage of your scattered nature to make progress or at least plans for things you don't usually get to), but that may not work depending on the situation.

Hello Fediverse! I am coming before you all today to promote my new instance: blackqueer.life! You may have seen my post on my old account about it a few weeks back. I wanted to wait until I finished migrating my old account over here, got the instance up and running to where I wanted it, etc before promoting it fully.
We all know Fedi isn't always kind to Black users, doubly so for Black queers. My instance represents my attempt to continue the amazing work some folks are doing in the Fediverse to make these platforms more accessible and safer for all users, ESPECIALLY marginalized folks.
When I joined the fediverse, the first thing I was searching for almost from the beginning was an instance dedicated to or centering Black queer people explicitly. While there are a few amazing communities like that out there, many of them are either not federating, offering limited federation only, or are currently closed to new users.
This allows them to have much greater control over the content their users are exposed to, which I have tremendous respect and appreciation for. Hell, I've got alts in some of those places!
However. As a newcomer to Fedi, it was not overly easy for me to find these places and gain access, which I recognize is somewhat by design. Limited or no federation meant the only way to locate them was by word of mouth and extensive research.
This is where BlackQueerLife comes in. I want to build a place where Black queer, trans, and GNC folks can feel safe making a home while also being able to venture out into the rest of the fediverse. I want somewhere they can use as a landing pad. I want as many multiply marginalized Black folks off of corporate hellsites like Twitter and Bluesky as possible. We are not safe being corporate playthings.
Most importantly, I want every Black queer person who joins Fedi to know that they have somewhere they can go. I don't expect that all would necessarily want to join, but I want all Black queer fedizens to know that they are welcome to.
So if you see this, please boost this post to spread the word. If you already boosted the other posts that have gone out about this instance, no pressure. Thanks so much!

It's almost as if they were never interested in a conversation at all, and had no interest even in politeness once it became clear that my Quakerly ways weren't going to be convinced by some passages in a shady translation of an old book. :(

@Sophie That sounds like progress, hopefully you'll get better at the diagnosing part too.
We tend to lean on different system members for this, such as an emotional protector or someone with stronger bodily awareness.
@atinyfairy I don't think I've ever known a general search engine to do that, at best quotation marks mean searching for a specific sequence of words (regardless of punctuation).
@hollie Huh. I feel like I may have run into this problem, but I don't think I have ADHD.
Moved from google to duckduckgo years ago because google was ignoring my search terms. Now I'm moving from duckduckgo to https://www.mojeek.com/ because duckduckgo is ignoring my search terms. Haven't used it long enough to give an actual recommendation but it seems promising.

* Noticeable gender dysphoria.
* Strong dislike of your genitalia, body, voice etc.
* A desire for HRT or surgery.
* A medical diagnosis.
It's enough to feel that your gender doesn't match the one you were arbitrarily assigned at birth.
You don't need anything else to be valid

The thing about painted bike lanes and flex posts is that there's a pretty big difference in user experience between places cars *shouldn't* go and places cars *can't* go.
Paint and flex posts are like rumble strips: they are designed to gently remind cars where they should go in a way that does not damage the car. This makes sense for a highway off-ramp, but it clearly falls apart when we're talking about safety for someone on the other side.

I'm plural and have a bunch of different internal voices, and only realized in adulthood, but I now suspect that many of these voices were based on the body's voice at the time they formed including changes from endogenous T.
